“I kept meeting bright kids held back by circumstances they never chose, and I knew a few hours a week could change that.
It all started when I walked into the mosque on a Friday afternoon and saw countless children running around the prayer hall, full of energy and full of promise. I started talking with their parents, getting to know the families and asking how their kids were doing in school. Many of them were new to the country, and the same worry kept coming up: their children were bright and eager, but struggling to keep pace in classrooms taught in a language they were still learning. Hearing that, I knew a few hours of patient, one-on-one attention each week could be the difference between a child slipping through the cracks and a child who feels capable again. That's when the idea of BrightGenerations sparked in my head.
BrightGenerations began with a handful of in-person tutoring sessions and a simple belief: that a child's future shouldn't be limited by where their family started over.
When families told me that flexibility mattered more than a fixed place and time, we moved fully online. Today, tutors meet students whenever works best for them, whether that's right after school or whenever the family can make time.
Alongside this work, I've spent over three years teaching martial arts and Arabic to younger students, I compete as a swimmer and a second-degree black belt, and I've been lucky enough to perform piano at Carnegie Hall. But the community BrightGenerations has built is the thing I'm proudest of, and the reason I keep going.
A future where every child has someone in their corner.

BrightGenerations exists to be that bridge: to make sure no child's potential is decided by their circumstances, and that every family has somewhere to turn.
